Cheshire Independent Living Awareness Day (CILAD) is a community-led event that celebrates diversity; aimed at raising greater awareness and understanding of the social model of disability and services/products available to support disabled people to live independently within the community.
CILAD will be hosted in and around huge marquees situated on the Moss Farm site in Northwich within the Cheshire West and Chester geographical area, with plenty of fully accessible parking spaces and facilities. It is the ideal venue for
Cheshire Centre for Independent Living (CCIL) and partner organisations to showcase their services and activities available to disabled people and their families in Cheshire.
There will be zone areas, within the marquee for exhibitors, linking closely with the pillars of independent living, showcasing stalls that cover personal assistance, transport, equipment, community access/inclusion, education and work and volunteering. Additionally, the event will be open to the general public, to raise disability awareness and provide an opportunity to learn more about the impact of disability or enjoy the community activities/entertainment on offer; thus, encouraging community participation, integration and cohesion.
