My experience includes 2 years of
working with a lady as a support worker (practically live-in). When I started, she was living in an institution which was not suitable for her needs. We successfully transitioned her into her own home, and to this day she has 2 to 1 support 24/7, in her own bungalow instead of a care home. This experience has given me a passion for supporting independence, and a faith in human capacity given the right environment
and support.
Domestic duties were included in this role (as well as other clients I have worked with that have diagnosis such as autism , learning disability and brain injury), as well as a
focus on supporting an active and social lifestyle
