A degree in Journalism
• I am a dedicated member of a weekly football league played locally. I collect payment from members each week, log the amount and use these funds to organise resources necessary for future matches or distribute funds dependent on the team’s needs such as improved training equipment. I am responsible for the team’s current equipment.

I have worked as a Residential Care Worker at a leading charity supporting people with learning disabilities, for the past 16 months. In this role, I have been responsible for providing high-quality care and support to male residents in a safe and nurturing environment.
My key duties include assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, while ensuring the comfort and well-being of each individual. This involves liaising with healthcare professionals to monitor any changes in medical needs and updating care plans accordingly.
Financial support is an integral part of this role – assisting residents with budgeting, managing personal finances, and supporting them with paying bills or making purchases, while promoting independence and financial literacy.
Additionally I have supported residents in engaging with various social and recreational activities, promoting their independence, and encouraging their involvement in community events. I work closely with my team to develop individualized care plans, ensuring that each resident’s needs are met and that their physical, emotional, and social development is supported. This includes working collaboratively with the client’s families and other healthcare professionals, to ensure continuity of care.
My experience in this role has strengthened my passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities. This is my first role in a care environment and the positive experience has made me a dedicated and reliable member of the team. I have a strong rapport with the residents and advocate for their best interests at all times.
