  • Employment History

I have a diverse employment history that reflects my passion for supporting individuals in challenging circumstances. I began my career in youth work, where I provided guidance and mentorship to young people facing various challenges. I then moved into a leadership role as a Team Leader at a semi-independent care home, overseeing staff and supporting young residents. My next position as a Learning Support Assistant at a SEN music college allowed me to work closely with students with special educational needs, fostering their growth in a creative environment. More recently, I worked as a Personal Assistant to a disabled politician, providing vital support in both personal and professional matters, further enhancing my skills in empathy, organisation, and advocacy.

  • Job Related Training & Education

Throughout my career, I have completed various job-related training and education to enhance my skills and knowledge. I have undertaken short courses in Safeguarding Children and Young People, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and Data Protection, ensuring I am equipped to handle sensitive issues responsibly. Additionally, I have a background in Health and Social Care, having completed a GCSE and a BTEC National Diploma, which provided me with a solid foundation in supporting individuals in care settings and understanding the complexities of health and social care practices. These qualifications complement my hands-on experience, allowing me to provide the highest level of support to those I work with.

About me

I am excited to apply for the role of Personal Assistant for individuals with disabilities, children, and young people. With over a decade of experience in youth work, combined with my deep empathy and resilience shaped by personal challenges, I am confident in my ability to provide compassionate and effective support in this role.

In my previous positions, I have worked closely with young people in care, empowering them to overcome barriers and make positive life choices. As a manager of two semi-independent care homes, I supported over 12 young women and led a team of 10 staff, juggling diverse responsibilities to foster a safe, nurturing environment. I also took initiative to organise fundraisers, such as a Christmas campaign that ensured every resident received a gift, demonstrating my dedication to creating inclusive and supportive spaces.

Additionally, I have spearheaded creative projects like a 10-week music therapy program, which provided young people with a platform to express themselves and showcase their talents to industry professionals. These experiences highlight my ability to multitask, mentor, and design programs that inspire and empower young people to thrive.

I am eager to bring my skills in organisation, empathy, and advocacy to your team, helping to positively impact the lives of those you serve. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my passion and experience align with your mission.

Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely,
Naomi Read
