I have 19 years’ experience in supporting a wide range of people from toddlers to the elderly, youths and adults with learning and/or physical difficulties. I enjoy supporting people and I am sensitive and empathetic. I can communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and I have good listening skills. I am patient, calm, honest, dependable and reliable.

I founded and ran an arts and multimedia group for adults with learning difficulties on a voluntary basis for 4 years, which gave me the skills to work under my own initiative.  People I have supported say that I make them laugh and always cheer them up, they like talking to me when they are down.

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic we had to rapidly diversify our way of working as Day Support Workers and I was independently involved in a pilot scheme providing activities over Microsoft Teams.  This consisted of me researching activities, games and social engagement that my clients would engage in and enjoy.  I received fantastic feedback and my client’s relatives even ended up joining in on the sessions, despite this being respite for them!

I have a thorough awareness of the importance of confidentiality through training and experience at work.

I own my own car and have a full driving license plus business use.

I hold an enhanced DBS.
