From 1980-2020, I was employed by adidas UK Limited in various roles, gaining significant experience across multiple functions including Corporate Social Responsibility, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee & Community Engagement, Mental Health Programmes and Internal Communications. When my role was made redundant in March 2020, right at the start of the covid pandemic, I decided to step back from the corporate world and launched my own company offering a professional home & life decluttering and cleaning service.
However, I finally found my calling last year when I became a personal care assistant for a disabled boy with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). I worked as part of a care team in a busy household providing:
•Personal care (toilet, showering, dressing)
•Administering medication
•Administering and cleaning cough Assist apparatus and feeding tubes
•Carrying out daily exercise routine
•Driving to social events and hospital appointments
•Companionship
•Housework on behalf of the family
