    Research Assistant/ Personal assistant to disabled research fellow– Oct 2020 to present
    • Assistant to a disabled University Research Fellow, covering all aspects of academic research and teaching.
    • Transcribe recordings related to research meetings, data collection, and one-to-one supervision meetings with students.
    • Assist in the production and delivery of lecture and seminar materials as part of undergraduate and postgraduate study.
    • Develop periodic reports for research funding bodies and reports on research expenditure.
    • Assist in the maintaining of research participant safeguarding, and ensure confidentiality is upheld throughout research production.

    Personal assistant/ Personal Healthcare assistant- March 2020- May 2021
    • Personal assistant to a disabled partner (who is a power wheelchair user with severe muscle weakness) to cover emergency shifts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
    • Assisted my partner in carrying out daily activities, including but not limited to personal care and hygiene, nutrition, medication, postural support, physiotherapy, travel, socializing, monitoring of non-invasive ventilation and assistance throughout the night and monitoring of skin integrity.
    • Manual handling, hoist transfers and accessing/safety practices in wheelchair-adapted vehicles.
    • Administration duties – Recording and Documenting meetings between my partner and healthcare practitioners (GPs, clinicians, crisis team etc).

    Bioscientist/Senior Bioscientist – CRUK, Manchester Institute, Wilmslow Road, Manchester, M20 4BX- Oct 2011 to Sep 2017
    • Design, development, and routine running of novel biochemical, cellular, and biophysical screening assays to be used during early phase drug discovery against a broad range of oncology targets.
    • Quantitative assessment and data analysis of compounds; including potency, selectivity, and mode of inhibition.
    • Provide project reports for presentation at project meetings, patents and peer-reviewed journal publications as required.

About me

I am a 33-year-old, energetic, and friendly female looking for a role as a personal assistant/ personal care assistant.

I have lived and work experience of assisting disabled individuals achieve independence in everyday activities, as my partner receives 24 hr personal healthcare assistance in our home.
My personal values are routed in assisting with daily activities through choice and control, respect, and compassion.

I believe all disabled people should have opportunities to pursue their interests, participate in their communities, and be included in society.
I am familiar with person-centred planning and the essential role support has in achieving health, social, and well-being outcomes.
