About me

I am applying for a Personal Assistant role because I would really like to be able to support and care for people requiring additional help within their own homes and their community and help them to stay mobile, active, independent and able to continue to enjoy their personal interests, hobbies and activities. I would like to work in such a role as this as I believe I have relevant skills, understanding and knowledge to bring to the role. I am a caring, helpful and friendly person with a compassionate and empathetic manner and the ability to use my initiative in order to successfully complete tasks put before me and manage various situations that may arise. In my current role as Victim Liaison Officer I manage my own workload and work on my own initiative. I visit victims in their own homes and always speak with them in a caring, compassionate and empathetic manner. They are often upset, concerned, feeling stressed and strained with the situation, and feeling vulnerable, and I try to offer them help and advice in order for them to feel safer and offer a listening ear as often they feel they have no-one to talk to about the situation. I listen carefully to their concerns to ensure I am able to help and assist them in the best possible way that meets their needs. I always receive positive feedback about my work both from victims and from colleagues. I would really love the opportunity to care for one client/couple as opposed to a variety of service users within the community, in order to be able to build up a really good relationship with them, and good understanding of their needs and therefore be able to better help and support them in meeting their individual needs. I am very diligent and a quick, willing learner which has enabled me to make a success of my employment roles to date.
