I have excellent planning and organisational skills, I work well as part of a team and I am an excellent communicator.
I am punctual and reliable and a hard working person.
During my 26 years as a teacher I worked with children and young people, some of them with learning difficulties, behavior problems and some of them with some with physical disability.
I also have several years experience as a carer for older people. In Portugal I took care of my grandmother at the last year of her life, shopping, cleaning and taking care of her at her daily activities because she was in bed very ill and had mobility and heart problems. So I used to bath her, washed her hair and do her nails. Since the begin of 2013 I supported my mother and father in law taking care of them twice or three times a week, according to their needs. They both have mobility problems. My mother in law also has a serious heart problem and dementia.
I worked as a carer assistant at Ovedene House, in Winsford, for a week. Before I started working there I’ve done training about Safer People Handling in 10 December 2014.
During a week I worked as a carer and I was quite pleased with the job. However, after a week, the manager told me that I will start working on Activities because they needed people to work there and, at the job interview, I said that I also like to plan and do activities with people. I worked there as Activities Coordinator but I didn’t like it so after a while I decide to leave an look for another job,
Since 2015 I start work as a personal assistant in Knutsford with a young girl with additional needs, however because the financial situation of the family change a lot after her mother stop working the family decided that because the mother was home, will be her to take care of the young girl and don’t need me anymore. For several years I work as a personal assistant for a disabled lady in Cheadle and I am still working there. In September 2017 I start working for an old lady in Urmston but recently the family decided that they will put the lady in a nursing home on February 2018. So I am looking for some more hours to work during the week .
