We are looking for a personal assistant for our 20 year old son, who has a diagnosis of autism, learning disability and dyspraxia. However, despite the labels M is a wonderful young person who likes creative design, video games, cooking, walking and talking part in new activities. M also desperately wants to do things just like his older sisters. But us oldies are not cool to do it with him, hence the reason for this advert.
We are looking for a cool, caring young PA to take M out to socialise and help his transition skills. Such as reading development and budgeting and cash handling. Both his father and myself work in care and will provide good handovers, expectations and treat you kindly and fairly within the family.
Available each week:
Wed 5.30pm to 9.30pm (or Thurs considered)
Saturday 4pm to 10pm
Essentia Skills:
Experience of working with autism and young person transition to independence.
Fun and outgoing personality
Be patient and kind
Enjoy going out doing young person activities (cinema, bowling, bars, gaming shops, shopping etc). Expenses for activities will be provided.
There are 2 friendly dogs in the house, so dog lover required.
Taking M out to activities he wishes to try such as cinema, games bars, walking.
Assisting M with transition skills such as cash/card handling, reading development when out in the community, assisting M in navigating and understanding social experiences for his age.
