Job description:
We are looking for a PA to come and assist our wonderful daughter to have fun.
X is 3 years old and loves to play, enjoys when people sing to her and loves her walker and trike.
X also has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a vision impairment. She is tube fed and non-verbal but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have anything to say. We have lots of different ways in which we communicate.
X needs someone to help with her positioning so that she can play, help with physio and other therapies, communication needs and personal care.
Experience in care, physio, pre-school or nursing is desirable but absolutely not essential as training will be given but energy, enthusiasm and fun personality is a must!
Responsibilities:
Planning play activities - motor skills, fine motor, sensory, music, vision, communication
Positioning for play
Attending certain appointments with parents to get a better idea of X needs
Tube feeds and medication given via gastrostomy
Cleaning syringes and preparing occasional medication
Supporting the family with household (dishwasher, washing etc)
Physiotherapy (access to sessions with X and her private physiotherapist with family, practicing a variety of physio techniques)
Requirement:
Self employed
Public liability insurance
DBS checked
Desirable:
Background in care or working with young people
An interest in paediatric physio and development
Own transport
Salary:
Dependant on experience but minimum £10.50 ph
