Brief Requirements

Personal Assistant required to support a disabled young lady at home, for up to 37.5 hours per week plus possible bank hours (morning/afternoon/evening/night shifts).

1. Attainments:
Essential: Effective communication skills.
Desirable: Previous care experience.

Essential: Ability to undertake appropriate training in order to understand role and requirements.
Essential: Ability to support individual and provide high standards of care.
Desirable: Clear understanding of issues relating to vulnerable, disabled clients, or those with additional needs.

Essential: An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality.
Essential: Ability to work along or as a team member.
Essential: Kind, caring and compassionate.

4. Circumstances
Essential: Willing to meet the needs of clients according to individual care plans and in a manner appropriate to their lifestyle.

5. Duties
To help and assist with personal care.
To undertake/assist domestic responsibilities e.g. laundry, cleaning.
Supporting access to social activities.

Main Description

The role will include supporting the client with personal care tasks, housework, day to day tasks, pet care, showering, light gardening of flowers and vegetables, and social activities. There'll be plenty of binges of Netflix involved too!

Applicants must be comfortable with cats and dogs (as the client has 2 cats and a dog which she requires help caring for).

The client has deteriorating osteoporosis and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She requires 24/7 care to allow her to live independently. The client is looking for friendly and caring individuals to assist her independence.

Shifts available are;
Wednesday: 10.30pm-7.30am
Friday: 3.30pm-11pm
Saturday: 10.30pm-7.30am
Sunday: 7am-4pm
3 hours on a day of your choosing
PLUS Bank hours as they arise

This role is available for job share and can be split between up to 3 people.
