Team Lead Personal Assistant (PA) required to support a PA team for a disabled and independent gentleman in Widnes (WA8).

Shifts are approx 48 hours per week on weekday and weekends (day and night shifts). Please note, shifts and hours are flexible for the right applicant.

5. Duties
To help and assist with personal care
To undertake domestic tasks e.g. laundry, cleaning
Dressing/getting up and getting ready for bed
Monitoring/recording health needs
Administration of medications
Booking and attending appointments
Supporting shopping
Support when out/about in the community

Main Description

This role as Team Leader PA/Carer includes undertaking and being responsible for:

* Organising staff rotas
* Staff supervision and support
* Attending meetings or accompanying the client to meetings as/when necessary
* Reporting and recording staff holidays
* Reporting and recording sickness
* Organising cover for periods of Annual Leave/sickness
* Assisting with recruitment, hiring and training co-ordination for existing and new staff (alongside the employer)
* Maintaining administrative records
* Organising client health appointments

Carers need to be willing to be trained in care of Tracheostomy and Ventilation with ongoing training and support of the professional care team.

There are a range of shifts required and the opportunity to workdays, and waking nights. Sleep-ins and flexible hours can be negotiated for the right candidate.

The client requires 2 PA Carers at all times. The hours required are:

* 8:00am - 8:00pm (12 hour shifts): Monday to Sunday
* 8:00pm - 8:00am (12 hours waking night shifts): Monday to Sunday
* Sleep-ins
* Holiday or sickness cover/bank hours as available

The client is 28 years old and lives with Muscular Dystrophy. He is PEG fed throughout the night/day and uses a ventilator to support with his breathing.

The client lives independently in an adapted property with support 24 hours per day.

The client has a wide variety of interests such as: 3D Printing, Fundraising, watching TV, having good conversations, exploring new ventures. He has set up his own charity called Time2smile, which is very important to him.

Successful candidates will require training in Tracheostomy Care and Cough Assist - all training will be provided as part of this role.
