PA required for disabled man. I am looking for someone 1 or 2 days per week, to help me go out on my recumbent bike and with day to day living activities (such as gardening or cooking). I live in South Manchester. I need help because I have aphasia, cognitive difficulties and hemiplegia as the result of a brain injury. I am in my late 40s.
The job description will depend on how many hours per day you would like to work. In general I need some to: assist me with the activities of and planning for daily living, help me to handle day-to-day self-care such as pain management and safe decision-making (not personal care), help me to maintain my mobility by doing basic stretches and mobilising safely, assist me with some household chores, communicate with my family to about my condition and progress.
It is essential that you are happy to ride a bike with me (mostly off road). I'd prefer a PA who can drive as I mostly cycle on traffic-free routes these days and driver means I can go a bit further afield but it's not essential. I'm looking for someone who can work between 4 and 8 hours per day. The post is funded by an Adult Social Care Personal Budget.
