Job Description

I am looking for a self-employed PA. Molly needs someone to help her develop her independence outside – and perhaps inside – the house, someone she would feel is a friend and mentor. The PA and I would discuss frequently what this looked like, and I would be happy for the PA to take the lead in this matter. I would obviously pay for petrol, food, entertainment etc.

My daughter, Molly, has been awarded Direct Payments for a PA. Molly has a rare gene-related disorder known as DHDDS. In Molly’s case, the disorder presents as mild to moderate cases of ADHD, epilepsy, Autism, general learning difficulties and movement disorder. Molly has always coped well with her challenges, although the last year has been difficult as her mum, my wife, died in May 2024. Still, she has always been and remains very chatty, charming and witty.

Molly has always done lots of PE at school, and is strong and relatively flexible; it is important that she keeps this way. But whilst Molly enjoyed exercise during the day with friends at school, she prefers to chill once she gets home. So I’m hoping that a PA would be happy to help Molly somehow in this area. It may be that the PA plays ball games with her and then gets her stretching afterwards, or that they do something on a more formal and organised manner at a club of some description. The latter may help maintain and develop her social skills etc.
