The North West's PA register
NWPA is a not-for-profit register operated by Disability Positive, a disabled people's organisation and charity that's been supporting independent living across Cheshire, the Wirral, Warrington, Bolton and Lancashire since 1994.
Built because matching matters
Finding the right Personal Assistant is one of the hardest, most personal decisions in independent living. National directories don't know your area. Job boards don't check who's on them. Most matching services charge fees that disabled people shouldn't have to pay.
We built NWPA to do both jobs properly. Every PA is checked by our team before they appear in the register. Every employer profile is reviewed. The whole service is free because we're run by a charity, not a marketplace.
Our parent organisation, Disability Positive, has been doing this work for over 30 years. NWPA is what happens when the people who know the work best build the tool that the region actually needs.
What makes the register different
We took the slow, expensive parts of finding a PA and rebuilt them as something fast, free, and trustworthy.
Every profile checked
We verify every PA's identity, references and right to work before they appear in the register. No anonymous accounts, no spam profiles.
Local to the North West
We only cover Cheshire, the Wirral, Warrington, Bolton and Lancashire. Our team knows the area, the transport, and the support services that already exist.
Run by disabled people
Over 70% of Disability Positive's staff and trustees have lived experience of disability. The people building this service understand what it needs to do.
Free, both sides
The register is free for everyone. PAs don't pay to be listed. Employers don't pay to search. We're funded by Disability Positive, not by membership fees.
Where we cover
Five counties across the North West, connected by the same charity that's supported independent living locally for three decades.
Run by Disability Positive
Disability Positive is a disabled people's organisation. We support direct payments, advocacy, payroll, social groups, learning and training across the North West, plus consultancy and disability-confidence work for organisations who want to do better.
NWPA is one part of that bigger story. Read more about the charity behind the register.
